Since my previous amplifier does not have HDMI connections (which are almost necessary by now), it was time to buy a new one.
The AVR X4000 from Denon turned out to be the perfect reciever for me.
There is nothing better in this price range!
Design, menu navigation, sound and workmanship are in a league of their own.
Especially in silver, it looks very classy.
The Denon AVR-X4000 has more than earned its 5 stars.
It is also an absolute dream as a switching point between the ever-increasing number of multimedia devices. The choice between music or films from stand-alone devices or from the Internet with integrated Internet radio, Spotify, etc. is easy to make and no longer requires complicated switching.
And the whole thing with a super sound from a device of high quality workmanship. Highly recommended!Pro

My experience is similar to that of markusdamm. My copy also worked perfectly for half a year until the amplifier suddenly started to switch off spontaneously - however, it could be switched on again after a short disconnection from the power supply and continued to be used. The technical support also suspected heat problems, which was not the case, and finally recommended to complain about the unit.
The authorised workshop could not find any fault with me either and charged 130.- for the check. After my intervention, clarifications for a second, free clarification by the workshop began, when Denon suddenly sent a brand-new replacement unit, according to their own information as a gesture of goodwill. Since it was a brand new device, Digitec was very accommodating and I was able to cancel the purchase - minus the 130.- for the repair shop.
It's a shame, because the design and functionality actually convinced me. Since returning the device, my Sony STR-DA5200ES is now back in service, unfortunately without network function, but without "crashes".This review was created for a different variant: Avr-X4000 (7.2 channels, FM)

The unit is not my first Denon Receive...
This is not my first Denon receiver. But this one is outstanding in terms of musicality, precision and bass power - simply super!
The picture processing is also very good and setting up and calibrating the unit is very easy.
I can recommend the device to anyone who is looking for a very high-quality receiver - and at a very fair price.Pro

Hello, I am very satisfied with the receiver, at the beginning it was a bit much to configure but now it is really fun. The app and the possibility to configure it in the browser are good.

Since my old DENON AV receiver (AVR 1705) no longer meets today's requirements, I started looking for a new one and ended up with the X4000.
The plus points in a nutshell:
The metal front gives this receiver a noble appearance.
Easy integration into the network
Simple set-up via on-screen menu navigation
Connections are easy to wire and there's not as much fuss as usual.
7 HDMI inputs - ideally suited for modern multimedia households
3 HDMI outputs
Spotify integration
Dynamic playback of film and music
The media player plays pretty much any audio format. (Even DTS audio CD which otherwise only the laptop can do via VLC Player)
Price/performance: unbeatable
