    The rescue...

Until now, I had a Siemens monoblock system from 10 years ago, similar price (or more expensive) at that time. It's amazing what has happened technically in this area. The DeLonghi is a step forward in every respect: quieter, more powerful, with timer and FB. Only the hanging of the hose out of a normal casement window still has something of an "emergency solution".
It's only been in operation for a day, but I'm already delighted with this purchase - it makes the current heat phase much easier to get through.
As far as "silent" is concerned, I can say this much: in silent mode at a distance of 3m, I measure the promised 47dB with mine. When the compressor kicks in, it rises to 57dB. The frequency depends on the current temperature, of course, but I find it acceptable. You can watch TV with only slightly increased volume. Sleeping is, of course, personally very different - I can also sleep well with a little more volume. But I still switch it off if it's not absolutely necessary...

Much more efficient with two tubes

I made a small modification to my PAC with a MacBook Air box. No more negative pressure and much more efficient. I am happy :)

    • No two hose system

    Good product

Good product, useful in hot weather, but a fixed installation is more efficient...

I will never give it away again!

This device has saved me some sleepless nights!
The bedroom is cooled down to approx. 22° C within 15 minutes, even with an outside temperature of 35° C. The whole apartment (approx. 70m²) can be cooled down with the help
of additional fans. The whole flat (approx. 70m²) can be cooled down to approx. 25° C with the help of additional fans. Without the fan, the air hardly circulates and only the room where the air conditioner is located is noticeably cooled.
The volume in cooling mode is quiet enough for me to fall asleep (timer function available). However, I can understand that it may be too loud for some.
For the window sealing, I used the "Sonnenkönig window kit" and sealed all four sides of the window (see photo). The window kit serves its purpose, although it does not seal perfectly by far. I have not found a better solution for a normal side-hung window.
Galaxus or the supplier probably dynamically adjusts the prices to the demand. I still paid CHF 714 when I bought it in 05/2019.

    Heavenly. Absolutely worth the price.

This thing massively improves our quality of life. We have a flat on the top floor and when it's warm the heat pushes in from the windows and above. Even on the recent warm May days, sleeping was torture. We have installed the unit in the living room and cool the flat down in the evening so that we can sleep well. The unit cools strongly and is sufficient for our 120 square metre flat. It takes a while for the coolness to spread to all the rooms, but it is definitely enough for the whole flat. It has a silent mode, but it's not so quiet that you'd want the thing in the bedroom. However, we can leave the bedroom door open and then it doesn't bother us when the thing is in the living room.

Installing it on the window takes some manual dexterity as the case may be (which I have sparsely, but it worked). Those velcro ones you can buy are just fiddly. I taped off an entire window (a floor-to-ceiling window/door to the balcony) with a plexiglass pane from the outside and then left a hole open (with enclosed guide. This works wonderfully and is not visually disturbing. The window is now open and no air gets in, blinds also still close.
