On my iMac 2020 they work right away, quickly installed, I recommend to remove the original ones and only use the crucials otherwise performance problems might occur.

Performance of the iMac did not change at all. So I am now wondering if it is the RAM fault or the iMac fault.

upgrade if you only have Mac equipped with minimum

I have an iMac 5K, 27inch, from 2019, which was equipped with the usual 2x4GB RAM. However, this is not enough for image editing, so I wanted an upgrade. However, the original from Apple costs around CHF 800.
Installation was no problem, the chips are recognised and the RAM is also displayed as 2x16GB. But I don't see any significant improvement. Starting up the iMac now takes longer than before. Starting Firefox after booting also feels like it takes forever. Employees with Gimp or inkscape are still not able to work smoothly. Otherwise I have not noticed any deterioration.
I was aware that this could happen, but took the risk because of the low price. I will probably use the original chips again.

Suitable for Intel iMacs 27'' (2019/2020). Unfortunately, the last ones that allowed a low-priced, do-it-yourself memory expansion.
Pro
Use this RAM successfully in a Mac mini (2018) i3.
