Very good for the price. Here is the detailed rating:

    Sound:
When the bass and treble controls are in the middle (factory setting), the sound is totally unnatural: far too little treble, massively overemphasised bass
and lower midrange. It's worth trying out, I emphasised the treble and turned down the bass. Then suddenly more details appear in the mid/high range that were previously lost in the "swamp" of too much bass and underemphasised treble. At least the bass is surprisingly "dry" for the price, no cabinet rattling. The speakers are also extremely stable for their size. If you are looking for even better sound with more detail, you should consider the much more expensive Bowers&Wilkins MM-1.

    Convenience:
The front-mounted controls for bass, treble and volume are very convenient. Without the tone controls, I would immediately replace this product with another (see comment above). The speakers can only be powered by a mini plug 3.5 mm, there is no USB port (which would have made the speakers more expensive, a good sound card is recommended). There is also an Aux In on the front for additional external sources and a headphone output.

    Design/workmanship:
The weight alone when unpacking shows that massive coils and housing materials are used. The workmanship is of a very high quality. The speakers come in a noble black look, the front cover can be removed.

    Conclusion:
Super for the price. If you want more, you have to spend a lot more. Important: connect the speakers to a good sound card and use the sound controls to adjust the sound as desired, otherwise you could be disillusioned...!

A 2.0 system with a good bass and airs.

A 2.0 system with good bass and accurate highs.
A clear acoustic sound...ideal for classical, rock, blues, jazz, folk music.

    Stunning sound reproduction
And at an even more amazing price.

The best of the 2.1 subwoofer
    alternative.
    Better than many 2.1 systems

An excellent, faithful sounding system, even at high volumes.

    Pro

    • Faithful bass and treble sounds

I have the speakers running on my Mac mini and I am surprised how good these speakers sound in this class.

Nevertheless, I will consider an Edifier S530D later, as these systems have an even more homogeneous sound.

    In
any case, the T40 sounds much more natural than all those Logitech loudspeaker systems that cover up their weaknesses with tiny satellites and overly obtrusive bass.

    T40 for the second

The first pair has lasted at least about 5 years, now I bought here the exact same again. Find them better than the Bose about the same price, pleasant, treble and bass are well adjustable.

As a long-time hi-fi freak, it was important for me to connect good speakers to my new PC with a good sound card.
I occasionally listen to music, watch YouTube videos, edit my own videos together.

    So I replaced a couple
of cheap, old LabTec Spin 65 speakers.
Sound: I agree with paesc1983's assessment.

For me, the bass and treble controls are still in the middle position, but I have set my sound card equaliser so that low tones are slightly weakened and trebles are slightly boosted. The progression in the equaliser low to high is linear. Thus my experience coincides with paesc1983's. My own video recordings sound very close to reality.
The sound card preset "Rock" is also acceptable if a little too weak in the mid-tones (e.g. voices a little too weak).

The workmanship is top, I like glossy black very much. The covers are removable.

For me, the only negative point is that they switch off automatically a little more often than I would like. It then takes a few seconds for them to switch on again, so I sometimes miss the beginning of a video. (See below)

Conclusion: Here, paesc1983 hits the bull's eye again: Make sure you adjust the tone control, otherwise disillusionment could follow. Very good product for the price. I am very satisfied. Highly recommended.
