It delivers what the advertising promises. If it is as robust and durable as its predecessor, it is hard to beat in this segment.

Camera is tight I was diving at 29.7 metres, operable one-handed, battery holds enough for about three dives.

The previous model's (PowerShot D10) maximum depth of 10m was always a bit critical - the D30's 25m gives you a lot more flexibility and peace of mind.
I took the D30 with me on a liveaboard trip to the Maldives and it served me well - both underwater and above.
It is robust and handy: just attach it to your wrist with the supplied strap and off you go into the water! The flash is rather small and close to the lens, which is not ideal for floating objects in the water. But if you illuminate the scene with a diving lamp, you get great pictures.
All in all, an inexpensive, robust travel companion.

Three times in the water and the camera is gone. Although it guarantees a depth of 25m, water got in at less than 10m and so the camera is dead and not worth the money. I will bring it back in the next few days and hope for an accommodating service (the warranty runs for 2 years and should therefore not be an issue after 2 weeks).
I don't know yet if I want a new one (maybe all the other identical cameras are ok) or if I want the money back (who guarantees me that the whole series is not bad).
