I'm actually digital and never print anything. Unfortunately, I occasionally need something for the authorities and therefore need a printer. I'm also rarely happy when I can print something physically (especially in colour, and sometimes double-sided). So I didn't want to spend any money, take up as little space as possible and still be able to do everything (colour and double-sided printing). This device is the right one for that, and the print quality is ok. The DISADVANTAGES: The menu navigation really is an absolute disaster. Analogue 1980s. You can hardly read anything on the display with its large letters and abbreviated words. Typing in the WLAN password is almost a science, very complicated. Just until you switch off the annoying beep every time you press a button, really well hidden. It's better to pay a few francs more for a full keyboard and a decent display. The installation is just as disastrous. The enclosed driver CD, software window also looks like 1980s, cannot be installed at all. For me (latest ASUS laptop, Windows 11) it always crashes and doesn't do anything, gave up after 4 attempts. Just the fact that it comes on a CD is irritating. I finally downloaded it from the Canon website. Using USB 2.0 (cable NOT included, and what device still has USB 2 today?) I couldn't get a connection after several hours and all sorts of variations and gave up, it didn't work. I then switched to WLAN, the first time after a long search (hourglass wouldn't go away, then I took it off) it couldn't find a network, the second time it worked. In terms of noise, it is relatively loud, I have heard some quieter ones, but also louder ones. In short: device, functions, compact design, for the price: 5 stars. Installation and menu/settings and connection: 0 stars! Out of pity, I give it a total of 3 stars.

Prints quickly and in good quality. Unfortunately, A5 sheets are fed very far in the multi-media tray so that they are no longer visible and can then no longer be selected. In addition, with 'Automatic tray selection' and sheets in the multi-media feeder, the drawer is selected and not the feeder. Or maybe I'm too stupid to change the default settings...but even then, I haven't had to with any printer yet.

I was able to print at home for almost 2 years until the cartridge was empty. I looked to see which cartridges it needed. The cartridge compartment jammed and a plastic part broke off. I would still have had a warranty, but I didn't want to discuss it. What made my decision easier was that new cartridges cost about the same as a new device. Not exactly environmentally friendly, but easy on the nerves. FaziT: Buy a new printer every 1.5 years.
