Hard rock and metal suitable, shields super at a good price
Have long been the Beyerdynamic DT 770 without M with 250 ohms in the home studio because of the Brilianz and resolution. Since I am a percussionist now needed other headphones, for rehearsals and recordings in noisy environments. The M in this model stands for the higher attenuation of ambient noise, as the DT 770M was developed specifically for percussionists. Had it also already at a rehearsal with a metal band on and am really happy with it. It has also become one of my favorite headphones, especially to work on the road, for example, on the train, because it shields so well.

Good sound and damping
The headphones are used in a drum house and dampen the (loud) drums well. Sound quality is good. The contact pressure can become uncomfortable when playing for long periods. They have been worn for approx. 2 x 45 minutes at a time in quick succession, so it wasn't a problem.

Not suitable for drummers
Touted as headphones for drummers and sound engineers. However, the sound insulation is only insufficient for drumming. While the highs are well attenuated, the low frequencies are rather boosted. The bass drum thus hurts the ears unusually. The sound of the headphones is okay. Balanced but not as detailed as I would have expected. Unfortunately, the item can not be returned. For the intended use of mine, the listener is not to be used.
