Beyerdynamic Byron BTA
7.50 h, Wireless
After 5 months of use, I notice the shortcomings more and more. Meanwhile, I rarely use the headphones because a few things are bad.
1) The fit is not optimal, the headphones keep falling out. After I mounted the additional brackets, it should actually be better, but they slip away from the speaker by themselves and are then free to move, so that a good hold is not guaranteed. Definitely only suitable for quiet sitting.
2) Insulation is insufficient, i.e. outside noise comes through too strongly.
3) Charging cradle too clumsy. It has an extremely short USB cable and the solution via USB-C or micro USB on the headrest would be much more comfortable. I would never buy this again.
4) When the battery runs out, a loud announcement in the headphones is annoying every few seconds that the battery will soon(!) run out .... each time the audio transmission is interrupted (although the film/music continues) and you miss important things. A single message with a remaining time (charge the headphones, they switch off after 1 minute) would be much better.
5 ) Battery life is below average. The battery does not last 3 hours ... the fact that you have no other charging option than the charging cradle makes it unacceptable when you are on the move.
6) Cable noise somewhat annoying.
Update 12.11.2019:
Headphones no longer charge ... Now goes to the electronic waste. A rarely bad product.

comfortable, very good sound, good shielding of ambient noise, more practical in handling
Sound and wearing comfort are great. The keys are difficult to feel. The voice is annoying.

Great product, would buy again!

Had a little trouble at the beginning with the insertion, but works well with a little practice

Excellent product. Good autonomy of approximately 7 to 8 hours of listening at correct volume. Requires a good choice of ear tips to get a good sound.

I cannot agree with the assessment of some of my predecessors. I haven't had any problems with charging so far (1 month in use). Whereby I criticise that it needs a charging station itself, a normal micro USB connection would be much more flexible and you would be independent of where you can charge the headset without always having to take the station with you (which, according to Murphy, you then forget when you really need it).
Sound-wise, the Byron is one of the better BT devices I have used so far. Compared to the Bose Soundsports I use at the gym and the Sony MBR-1ABT, the Byron performs better to my ears. The spectrum is rather neutral without overemphasised bass, which is a positive point for me. I don't like these bass-heavy headsets a la Beats and the like at all, as I usually prefer neutral studio headphones. As for the sound quality itself, it still has to be said that Bluetooth headsets still don't sound as good as wired versions, despite AptX, AAC or BT4.2.
As far as wearing comfort is concerned, I have to criticise the supplied earplugs, but it could also be that I have strange ears :) . In any case, none of the 3 size pairs parked the Byron in my ears with any degree of security. I then bought a set of the Comply Comfort Plus Medium, which solved the problem. I can unreservedly recommend the Comply fitting pieces, very comfortable.

Very light, sit well in the ears, hardly noticeable. Can be quickly pulled out of the ears and hung around the neck, the earpieces hold together magnetically. They fit in a case in any trouser pocket.
One of the best I've ever had

The headphones have great sound. Unfortunately, they are build rather ephemeral and, because of that, I used them with special care. One day some parts (like a button?) felt apart and that was the end.
Too bad.

Bought the in-ears mainly for their multipoint capability.
I would never buy this crap again! 1. it always falls out of the ear, no matter with which silicone sleeves or additional holder, they simply do not hold. 2. The cable is far too rigid and puts additional strain on the earplugs when you move your head => they are more likely to fall out than usual. 3. the remote control can hardly be felt and it is always a matter of fumbling around, whereby the earplugs also fall out because there is movement on the cable. 4. I don't find the sound balanced in the low frequency range, it is clearly too weak. It sounds like when you turn down the EQ bass completely, terrible. I own an MMX-300, which sounds much better in the low frequency range. Because I lost the Bose SoundSport, I thought I wasn't doing anything wrong with Beyerdynamic, but I was very wrong this time. After only one day, I ordered the Bose again and paid dearly. I'm selling the Beyerdynamics again. Strangely enough, Beyerdynamic no longer lists the product on their website, which makes me a bit pensive, a pity about the purchase in my opinion...

OK for me, need it mainly for audio books, podcasts, etc. Unfortunately, the charging cradle has a fixed cable instead of a USB socket. But I wouldn't have bought it for the normal price. Better to pay extra and choose noise-canceling.

I have been using the earphones for about 7 months now and unfortunately have to revise my opinion somewhat. Whereas I previously rated the build quality as good, I am now disillusioned (more on this below).
The wearing comfort is OK for me, the sound quality is absolutely OK for my taste. From this point of view, the earphones are still one of the better products I have had. I can absolutely recommend the product.
I am disappointed by the build quality. The earbuds themselves are made of metal and thus very well protected against mechanical influences. This would be the best prerequisite for a long-lasting product, as long as you take care of the cable. For this reason, I transport them (when not in the ear) in a small, sturdy box.
Unfortunately, the absolute weak point of the earphones is the integrated control unit. After a short time, a small plastic part came loose from the control unit and the bare cable was visible underneath. Since I noticed this in time, I was able to glue the part back on. In the meantime, however, the control unit shows small and large cracks everywhere, so that the electronics underneath are no longer properly protected. Obviously, the cheapest materials were used here. One should expect more from an earphone in this price range.
I'm curious to see if this will be accepted as a warranty claim...

They sound quite good, but they constantly pop out of my ears when I'm walking (not running)! By the way, I have the same problem with the beats. I've tried all three sizes, with and without these "wings" - nothing doing! In view of the high price, I hesitate to spend another CHF 30.00 for Comply earplugs...

The first ones lasted about 3 weeks, then the right side stopped working! Replaced under guarantee, they only lasted 2 weeks until the new ones were broken again...I hope they last longer this time! That's why I only gave them 2 stars.

Overall, an attractive device. I like the design.
The magnetic earpieces are great when you have the device hanging around your neck all day. Nothing gets lost.
Classical music is very good, but I miss the rich sound of rock music.
Phone calls work. BT connection very fast, even when switching between mobile phone and laptop.
Unfortunately, as with the Beyerdynamic cable device, the maximum volume is very low.
Phone calls can only be made at maximum volume, otherwise you can't hear clearly and in order to be heard, the microphone has to be placed fairly in front of the mouth.

Unfortunately, I only had problems with the byron. Battery charging did not work at all with the byron. The charging station is poorly constructed. I sold the KH at auction. My buyer now complains about loose contact when listening. I have now switched to Bose Soundsport wireless. It costs a little more, sounds much better across the spectrum (rated one star higher) and is more cleverly designed and manufactured.

The Byron BTA have a very good and balanced sound and seem to be of high quality. They hold well in my ears and with the clip, some of the weight can be taken off the ears. The design is a little too plain for me, but Beyerdynamic's approach is consistent.
Charging with the station also works very well.
However, the headphones have one major shortcoming. The earpieces tear far too easily when you take them off. They hold very well, but you have to use a bit more force to get them off and they don't really hold. This is problematic because at the beginning you have to find out how you want to wear the headphones best, i.e. size and whether you want to use the Earhooks.
Universal earpieces don't work because they would be too wide. I can't try out the Earhooks anymore because I'm afraid I won't be able to wear the headphones (2 M and 1 L are torn).

When making phone calls (voice / skype / facetime / ... via iPhone 6 / macOS) it rattles and clanks that it is a joy. Any $2 junk headset from aliexpress.com sounds better. The sound when listening to music is great, but if a microphone is attached and telephony is explicitly supported (latest BT 4.2 protocols and codecs), I would expect more.
Wearing comfort compared to e.g. Bose QC20, PSVR headset, ... pure horror. Presses and hurts despite the smallest use.
Too bad, I'm used to better products from beyerdynamic.
