With air purifiers and filters, you have to rely on the manufacturer's specifications and test reports for performance if you do not have the expensive test devices from the material testing agencies yourself.
In the Stiftung Warentest test report, the LR 500 came in 7th out of 7 devices tested, particularly because the formaldehyde removal was insufficient.
The formaldehyde removal is important for smokers (not me). In any case, the test results lead to the conclusion that the activated carbon layer of the filter module of the LR 500 possibly only sparsely binds environmental gases in general. For smokers and people who wanted to use the activated carbon filter to ban other gases from the air in their homes, the LR 500 would therefore perhaps be unsuitable.
In the core task of an air purifier - the removal of pollen, dust, soot particles, mites and bacteria - the LR 500 performs well in the test, also in the test report by Which? (UK). The device is recommended for allergy sufferers.
Is the LR 500 suitable for reducing the Sars-CoV-2 virus load in the ambient air?
Cave 1: An air purifier with an H13 or H14 filter is not automatically capable of making and keeping a room germ-free.
Cave 2: To understand which air purifiers are suitable for reducing the viral load in the ambient air, it is not enough to rely on test reports. You have to understand the phys. and chem. You have to understand the physical and chemical principles of disinfection and apply them to the air purification processes.
Cave 3: the power consumption would be horrendous. Mechanical air purifiers can hardly be the solution, but they can improve the situation somewhat.
Note: A maximum room size of 34 m² means a CADR of around 400m³/h according to the ANSI/AHAM-AC-1 2015 industry standard, and a 106 m² maximum according to NRCC-54013-2011 also means around 400m³/h. The LR 500 documentation references these industry standards. Consequently, it can be concluded that the CADR value of the Beurer LR 500 is around 400m³/h.

I ordered this after reading a lot of stellar reviews. The reviews were universally positive.
I order this and the Philipps AC 2889 for my home. The Philips was for the bigger room and this one was for the bedroom. The bedroom is not so big so should have been fine in terms of coverage space
Assembly was easy. No issues.
Connecting with the APP was a super painful. Took me a couple of hours to get it right.

Both Phillipps and this are good options with different strengths. I find the Philipps more responsive but this does well also. I have updated my previous review which was harsher and I felt not very fair..
