    Bang for your buck

I wanted a higher end gaming laptop and after looking around on Digitec, this one was one of a small few that was good value wise (at time of purchase). I also bought a 64Gb ram kit and extended the warranty. I felt happy with the purchase considering the price. My wife has been using it for work (game designing) and gaming. She hasn't run into any issues yet.
It does get loud, but with all that power inside it needs to expell the heat somehow. Recommend using with headphones. If you need a quiet laptop, get one without a GPU or a MacBook Pro.

    Love it!

I use this device daily (i9 & 4080), primarily for studying, coding and gaming, and the performance has been outstanding! It handles everything I throw at it with ease. All the latest games run flawlessly. Highly recommended!

    Replaces mobile workstation

Purchased less as a gaming notebook, but as a replacement for the mobile workstations that used to be available (Lenovo P52). Somehow this genre seems to have died out. They still had replaceable battery modules and service flaps for SSD and RAM.

RAM upgraded to 64 GB myself, as 16 GB is always the limit. RAM modules used (2x): "PHS-memory RAM suitable for Asus ROG Strix G16 G614JIR-N4113W", Digitec article number 42046535

Reasonable effort for this, or for changing the battery. Loosen a few screws and remove clips with a plastic tool. You then have access to the two SSD slots, the two RAM slots and the battery.

It is unclear whether all models can be upgraded to 64 GB. An Asus page has listed this for this model (N4030W), while the other product variants are only listed up to 32GB. Which does not necessarily mean anything.

With undervolting and the quiet mode of the Asus tool (Armoury Create), it is really either completely quiet or quiet under low load. Still bearable under load in bar mode.

My model also has the NumPad that can be switched on in the touchpad.

    Pro

    • Effectively quiet or almost silent in quiet mode with low load
    • Fast
    • Cool RGB lights
    • Relatively inexpensive
    • A reasonably large number of connections including a Thunderbolt port

    Contra

    • Harder, but you know that
    • Processing not as supertool as the previous Lenovo models
