Arctic Freezer Xtreme Rev.2

It is easy to mount on AM3+ and cools reliably and much quieter than the original fan. For the FX-6300, "idle" is usually enough. No problems with the RAM. The price is good for such a mock-up.
Keeps the powerful processor cool
Great fan, very quiet! Must not be mounted upside down, otherwise it rumbles when turning. Takes up a lot of space, but very quiet!
Quality and performance great, but definitely too loud!
Really good product with pre allied paste wouldn't recommend for oc builds
I have delidded my 3770K and i have used Thermal Grizzly (metal thermal paste) so i needed a cooler with copper plate. I have used Arctic Freezer and it is perfect. Same OC performance at 4.8ghz and temps dropped from 85 to 65 at max load. It worked perfectly for me. I plan on delidding my 8700k and i will use this same cooler. People complaining about loudness should do better job with thermal paste.

This product works very well, my i74790 under stress (Gaming @ 4.0Ghz) does not exceed 55-60C.
Really simple installation and high performance while being very quiet.
Pro
Cooling performance quite io, unfortunately the heatpipes of the socket 775 get in the way of the supplied plastic socket, otherwise tip top.

Super cooling performance if there is a certain airflow in the enclosure!
On adding a passively cooled HD6770 graphics card to a Nexus breeze case, the stock CPU (AMD Athlon II X4 630/2800MHz) cooler started to get very loud even though the graphics card temp did not exceed 70 C even at full load.
The new CPU cooler was easy to install.
Since the cooler now directs the air flow toward the exit fan, the overall air flow in the case has improved and the graphics card also now stays even cooler. In other words the cooler now contributes to the whole system staying cool even at full load. It does this while remaining even quieter the the stock cooler at idle.
However, potential buyers should pay attention though, the cooler can only be mounted on AMD CPU's in one direction depending on on the position of the clips in the MB. For example, on my board the cooler is mounted in a horizontal position and can only blow air from right to left or vice versa. It would not have been possible to mount the cooler on my board so that it blows the air vertically. Although this was not an issue for me it might not suit the air flow in some cases.
It fits very well in my PC!!!
and the assembly on my AMD is so not complicated at all those who had problems should just look at the instructions and it will explain itself!
but otherwise a very good cooler have a AMD FX 8120 and at 4GHZ Turbocore goes to maximum 55C°
The fan is very good. I had doubts that it would fit in my case. But it still has about 5 cm to the lid. It is just short of the RAM. This is also due to the fact that the RAMs are quite small.
I screwed it onto an AM3 socket. Assembly went well, even without removing any components.
CPU under full load approx. 70 degrees. Maybe it's also due to my overclocking.
In any case, I would buy it again. I bought it because I saw it at a colleague's house.
I have already installed the cooler a few times on AM3 mainboards and never had any problems. It is very large and therefore it is recommended to mount the mainboard outside the case. For mounting, only 2 screws need to be tightened for that you need a long screwdriver and then it goes wonderfully.
Cooling performance is top and even under load this cooler is hardly audible.
Convincing buy recommendation!
+ Good containment of high temperature of the CPU
+ Multivariable mounting of the heat sink
- + Size just fits in midi tower
- Mounting on Intelboard:
Tip: First install and wire the mainboard before you install this monster. Otherwise you won't be able to reach the screws.
In addition, a very long screwdriver is recommended to be able to mount the cooler at all.
After 10min prime95 CPU Temp to approx. 50 °C ! super part xD
cooler keeps its promise. quiet and temperature remains at approx. 40-45°C under full cpu load (amd phenom2 965 X2).
however, i can only advise against buying this thing for an amd cpu, the mounting is really bad and tricky. it's best to remove the main board for mounting, mounting in the pc case is impossible under certain circumstances!
My first evaluation was with an Intel CPU (top performance)
I have now tested the whole thing with an AMD3 CPU. Absolutely unusable. The assembly is a horror. In addition, the cooler does not manage to get enough pressure on the processor so that it can properly dissipate the heat (this is probably due to the fact that the whole thing is tightened with 2 screws).
Therefore I can't recommend it for AMD3 processors.
@bobi0111: No, it was definitely not you ;)
To all you fiddlers: buy a long screwdriver, pull it past a magnet a few times and the screw will hold on the screwdriver....
I was able to mount it on an AMD MB quickly and easily.
Didn't have anything to "stress" my PC.
Normal temperature:
MB 35, CPU 41, 960rpm
Virus scan on SSD (CPU utilisation approx. 75%):
MB 35, CPU 48, 1055 rpm
+ Very quiet
- Note size
Installation on MSI P55M-GD45 (mATX) and Core i5 was very simple and fast; no "fiddling" necessary.
RAM banks can all be equipped well.
The fan rotates slowly in normal operation and is not audible.
Tricky installation, but once you have it, it runs great.
Super quiet and cools perfectly : average 38 degrees
I have been using the fan for about a year. The cooling capacity is super!!!!! You also don't hear too much noise from the cooler.
As already mentioned, the installation is a laborious affair.
It certainly took me an hour or more....
It's tedious that you have to take out the fan in the middle, put on the cooling frame afterwards and tighten 2 screws in the middle where the fan was with a screwdriver...
ONLY UNTIL YOU HAVE THE SCREWS IN PLACE......
YOU CAN'T REACH THEM WITH YOUR HANDS
I had previously installed a similar CPU fan from ASUS on my brother. Unfortunately, the model is no longer available.
BUT this model had a better system for mounting - you could install a mainboard holder and then hang the fan on the left and right with 2 holder clips - this system was much better.
I can only agree with what was said before me. The holder on the motherboard holds with me but to get the holder first on the board and to take away again is really a choking! otherwise he cools excellent!
I had a very bad experience with the cooler. Firstly, the cheap plastic of the fan vibrates, which causes unnecessary noise. The fan is anything but quiet. In addition, the fastening seems to be from the Middle Ages, as the fan can only be removed with a lot of choking.
The cooler itself works wonderfully and is also very quiet.
The installation, however, can be very nerve-wracking, as the nuts in the plastic holder are not necessarily correctly positioned in the hole and so the short screws do not even reach down to them. However, if you push the nuts back up to the hole, it should work.
A very big minus point is the holder on the mainboard. This strange system with the plastic pins is rubbish. Even if you press it down properly, the cooler may come loose. Woe betide the hardware that gets this monstrosity on the lid!
So I can only advise a limited purchase. If you want to take the risk of getting a good cooler at a low price, but it may be difficult to install and could come loose from the mainboard, this is the right place to buy it.
So with me the processor is at 28°C.. But I had to change the cooler a bit because it didn't cool that well (38°C)... I did the following: I bought a 120mm fan which blows a bit stronger (3000rpm) and I also mounted the included fan (1500rpm), that means I mounted two fans on this cooler... And when i start to play a game for example, i turn on full power with a fan control and so my processor stays cool... I don't mind it while i'm playing a game if it gets a bit noisy... My processor is an Intel q9650 3Ghz...
For gamers I wouldn't recommend this processor because it's just too weak. But for normal use like internet and stuff like that it is perfect because it is not heavy and not big. I had all the correct screws for intel ??
ATTENTION: the correct screws are missing for the INTEL board! If you take the trouble to go to the homepage, you will find a corresponding note after a long search. You should check whether the screws are enclosed in an additional bag (with INTEL written on it). If not, you should request the screws by e-mail...
I did, but after 2 weeks I neither received an answer nor the screws, so I returned the cooler and exchanged it for a NOCTUA cooler. Thanks to DIGITEC for their goodwill!
The cooler is certainly a good choice for the price! Very quiet in operation which I like very much. The installation requires a lot of patience which is a pity the brackets I have not even reingekriegt because the screws that have been supplied are much too short. So who wants to save the nerves because of installation should consider it. Otherwise top cooler!
Cooling performance 1a, nothing to complain about.
Nevertheless, only 4 stars from me, because the supplied screws were about 2 mm too short (Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 with 1156 socket, i7 2.93 GHz processor).
In general, the mounting on the Intel socket is quite fiddly, why the nuts are not fixed in the plastic frame is a mystery to me.
????? Mr SlimPress
where is your PC in the freezer?????? think about your statement with 18° or maybe change it to plus minus pole. I7 860 with standard fan at 50° with Freezer between 38-42°. Price performance fully ok but I changed the thing with the HO50 from Corsair.
Super part, the AMD mounting is a bit fiddly, but the cooling performance is sensational. (AMD Phenom x4 black 3.2 does not go above 40-42°) Now it's time to overclock... :-)
+ Cooling performance, price, volume, thermal paste already on it
- Mounting, size (be careful with small cases!)
