Well, what can I say: After two years of Android (it wasn't a path of suffering😉), I found my way back to the iPhone (which makes sense anyway with a Mac Book Air and an iPad Air in use). That already describes one advantage: The use in Apple's ecosystem. After two years with Google, I have to say that Apple does it better in every area and, above all, more reliably. But that is and remains a matter of opinion.
Now to the device: The first thing I like is the narrow edges, which make the display larger and the device appears more "delicate". The view of the screen has become even more attractive as a result. The display itself is again of a particularly high quality. It is extremely brilliant, colourful, high-contrast and bright enough to see everything clearly even in sunlight. The camera has improved once again and leaves little to be desired. With the 48 megapixel main camera, the ultra-wide-angle camera, also with a 48 megapixel sensor and with the autofocus function of a 5x zoom, there have been further improvements. What I particularly like is the "photographic style", with which the images can be adjusted directly during the shutter release (tone and colour at the same time). I find it more difficult to get used to the new camera button (Camera Control), which takes some getting used to and I don't really see the advantage here yet. Especially if the device is in a case (which most people will probably do), because the button contains a high-precision sensor that simulates pressing the button and the case is also lower, which makes the whole thing a bit "fiddly".
Even if many miss the real "innovation", as was speculated in advance, because quantum leaps like the first iPhone are difficult and hardly to be expected, I think the device is absolutely successful and attest it a clear purchase recommendation, because after all, it is a small step forward again.

As I didn't feel like travelling to the left/green city of Zurich to buy an iPhone from Apple, I ordered it online here. The delivery date was even missed and the iPhone I ordered was delivered according to the system. But the Planzer chauffeur probably had other plans! He simply signed for the delivery himself and I never received anything. After almost three days with digitec's chatbot and arrogant phone calls with Planzer employees, as well as registering with suisse-ePolice and then, on digitec's recommendation, placing an advert with Unknown. In the end, the amount was credited to me because the alleged search was unsuccessful and the digitec supplier is unable to supply any items from stock until further notice.
Recommendation for digitec:
Stop sending such expensive gadgets with Planzer! Nothing works, not even a professional telephone response to a customer who has not received their parcel.
Conclusion:
1. ordered an iPhone directly from Apple on the same day and received it the following day via DHL (against signature)
2. a few more grey hairs

It's a very good phone with qualities that almost justify the asking price
The camera is very, very good. You can see the difference with a normal iPhone
Apple also offers an incalculable number of accessories and possibilities that aren't always as extensive for Android.
All phones before iPhone 12 will be able to see the difference and it will be a real upgrade.
Personally, I had an iPhone 15 plus that I sold to go back to a smaller size because the keypad in my pocket bothered me.
not disappointed in my choice

As it stands, it’s mostly photography buffs who’ll see the iPhone 16 Pro as an upgrade. The new Photographic Styles let you override the iPhone’s traditional HDR look and, with the right settings, create beautiful skin tones. You can even modify the Styles without loss after taking your snap without having to shoot in unwieldy RAW format. If you ask me, it’s the killer feature.
The new Camera Control, on the other hand, has disappointed me. In trying to over-deliver, it’s missed the mark completely. A simple mechanical button would’ve been better than the fiddly mini touchpad. Though equipped with a higher resolution, the new wide-angle sensor doesn’t deliver more detail than the old one. The only real step forward when it comes to hardware is that the handy 5x zoom is no longer reserved for the Pro Max.
Besides the camera, the iPhone 16 Pro is – as is always the case with new iPhones – an excellent overall package. But it’s not noticeably better than its predecessor. Only the battery life has improved slightly. I haven’t included the AI features announced by Apple in my overall assessment as they weren’t available at launch. By the time the German version’s ready, the next iPhone might be well on the way to hitting shelves.
So, who should buy the iPhone 16 Pro? If you’re a keen photographer and enjoy getting into the nitty-gritty of taking the perfect snap, it’s a lovely upgrade – both in comparison to the previous models and the regular iPhone 16. Otherwise, I’d advise against buying it unless you need a new phone anyway. If you’ll be investing in one this year, it’s also worth taking a look at the remaining stock of the iPhone 15 Pro. In most areas, it’s just as good as the latest model.
