TP-Link Deco M5 Dualband WLAN Mesh Set of 1 (AC1300)
Yes, they can! I have also done so
Have you selected the operating mode "Access Point" or "Router"? I don't have Philips Hue but I have to use my Mash in Access Point mode as some things don't work in Router mode.
Well, I haven't found any. However, since it is possible to connect a number of Deco units together, I have enough 'juice' around my house. I have simply placed all the Deco devices in protected rooms, such as the garage, etc. etc.
The UPC device takes over the function of a modem in the mesh system, i.e. the Internet signal is fed into the main Deco system and then this builds up a mesh with the two other Deco, with a separate DHCP server and network. The advantage of this is that nothing more is connected to the UPC router and the WLAN in the UPC router can also be switched off. The set-up is super easy, apart from switching off the WLAN and connecting one device as the main Deco to the UPC router, nothing needs to be done on the UPC device.
No
With the 3, YOU make a mesh. One Deco is connected to the router via cable, the other 2 are somewhere in the house. Mains cable in a socket and configure via APP. When you walk around the rooms with your mobile phone, the Deco transfers the WiFi connection to the next Deco. This way you can walk around without interruption.
Yes 100-240V
Exactly, just configure the new one with the app. It doesn't even have to be an m5, even an m4 or x60 would work. I use it as an access point myself. I find the connection better then (speed). With the Sunrise or Swisscom box it is not possible to connect via Wifi. I have switched off Wifi on the Sunrise modem because I now only use the Tp-link deco. Hope I could help a little :-)
The Deco M5 are unfortunately without PoE. The adapter is included with the product.
However, it is not advisable because the first satellite is the access point. There should be at least two. And the price of the kit is unbeatable. I would recommend the kit.
maybe deactivate the wifi in the router? :-)
You can expand your WLAN with this system. However, you will have two separate WLANs (even if you give both WLANs the same name). When you move within the WLAN, there will be an interruption when you switch between the old WLAN and the Deco WLAN. Unfortunately, the setting options in the Deco configuration are very narrow. I recommend expanding your WLAN with a "normal" repeater.
