Hi Ballhead, Yes, the Ryzen 9 X3950 (OEM code: 100-000000051) is listed on the compatibility list (see https://de.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#support-cpu). For optimal operation, the mainboard BIOS may need to be updated beforehand. Best regards and have fun with your new PC!

Since you still have a 3XX chipset and a 2nd GEN Ryzen CPU, you still have to update the BIOS/UEFI. To do this, you need one of the 1st GEN CPUs which you should receive free of charge from AMD. (Of course, you will have to send it back again).

Hello According to MSI it supports ECC UDIMM RAMS (in non ECC mode) https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X370-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#productSpecification-section If you look under specs in detail mode. Hope this clarifies your question and if I am wrong please correct me ;) Thanks and greetings
