Microsoft Surface Dock 2
Docking port (proprietary), 4 Ports
A power supply unit is of course included, but not a network cable.
Is this the right cable? Not all USB-C to USB-C cables pass the image. I had this problem on my screen. I ordered another cable and it passed.
Yes, Dock 2 will certainly help.
When docked, press the Windows+P key combination and then select 'Expand' from the menu on the right-hand side, then all monitors should be active, including Surface.
My only thought would be that the monitors are on auto input detect and not set to the input you are using. Just a guess - hope it works.
No, that should not work. According to Microsoft, the Surface 8 Pro in conjunction with the Docking Station Dual can do 4K at 60 Hz. https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/surface/ermitteln-ihres-surface-docks-und-der-zugehörigen-features-591c07f4-2784-24cf-6445-6fa059237461 Many greetings
No - or yes. I have had similar problems with the Surface Dock since the beginning, regardless of the screen model. With the first one, the screen started to 'shake' from time to time, even with a high-end USB-C cable. In addition, sometimes no signal went out on USB-C: the computer does not recognise a screen and the computer does not notice anything. The first problem with the shaking went away when I replaced the dock. The second problem could only be solved if the dock was disconnected from the power, screen and computer and then reconnected. The second problem can be avoided if the computer is only connected and disconnected from the dock when it is switched on (=screen on & logged in). Basically, I like the concept that everything is connected with the one, magnetically held, connection. Unfortunately, however, the manufacturer has not understood the idea of a dock at all: I expect from such an expensive dock that you can connect the computer in a closed state and then start it by pressing a button on the dock (without opening the computer). This is a basic function for experienced manufacturers. In addition, a dock must always connect without any problems. Conclusion: Nice try, but absolutely unsuitable for business.
I don't know about Surface Pro 9, but that's how I use Surface Laptop Studio. It has a full 5120x1440.
I strongly recommend the Microsoft Sipport website as the features vary greatly depending on the generation of the Surface.
I use the Dock 2 on the Surface Laptop Studio. I don't notice any excessive heating. Could it be that the Surface Pro 8 only heats up because the battery is being charged? Then the Surface can get quite warm and the fan spins up. As soon as the battery is fully charged, the temperature and the fan speed return to normal. It is also important to make sure that the ventilation openings are free so that the hot air can escape unhindered. The fact that the plug gets hot only shows that the Surface Pro 8 "sucks" a lot of power. If this is not due to the activity of the CPU, it is probably the battery.
Yes, the Sufrace Dock 2 is compatible with the Surface Laptop 5.
Yes, the Surface Laptop 4 charges itself via the docking port. I use this dock daily with my Surface Laptop 4.
yes, it is possible
Hello, that doesn't really matter with this docking station, the supported resolution and refresh rate is exactly the same
Hello, according to the description, the docking station should also fit the Laptop Studio. In terms of handling, the dock is a great device...
The Surface Dock 2 was designed more for the Book series, but in my opinion it is overpriced and outdated since the new Surface Pro's have Thunderbolt. My recommendation is to buy a Thunderbolt 3 dock.
I sent my dock in after 6 months for exactly this reason.
According to clarifications with our suppliers, the power supply unit can unfortunately not be purchased individually.
Only Microsoft products with the same plug as the Surface Book 3 power supply connection. Otherwise, use a USB C dock for 2 USB C notebooks.
The configuration described works with the Surface Book 2 (I cannot judge the Surface Book 3). Greetings
The dock allows you to connect all the accessories: network cable, 2 extra screens, charger, speakers... the connection is the same as the basic charger with the magnet
Good evening Silvia. There are 4 USB-C ports on the Surface Doc. Only 2 of them are for the monitors. You have connected the cables to the correct sockets on the Doc?
