How well does the dial work for video editing? Can I use it to jump precisely step by step from frame to frame, or is it too smooth for that?

what you ask isn't by default but you can easily customize the dial to achieve this. Go to 'Wheel' setting and create a new custom function: https://redmondmag.com/articles/2018/01/16/adapt-surface-dial-to-a-task.aspx

Does anyone have experience with the Dial in Adobe programmes? I would be particularly interested in Lightroom, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Hmmm, it doesn't work on my Surface Pro 3 with the corresponding applications. I'm going to test it with the Surface Pro, but I don't know when that's coming.

Where is the difference to item no. 5980630 for Fr. 169.00? This one has the "NEW" sticker. In addition, it is available for pre-order in the Microsoft Store for Fr. 119.95. Are there different dials?

It is the same product. However, the unit that is in stock is an import. Unfortunately, we cannot change the price at the moment.
