I've had the 3rd disc for 2 days now and again it just crashes. The volume is no longer recognised or mounted on my MAC STUDIO. The first lasted a few months, the second even less and the third is now giving up the ghost after 2 days. I am at a loss and do NOT want a 4th Crucial X9 but a disc that works sustainably.

Is it possible to load image material directly from the camera onto this SSD without an iPad or laptop?

Yes, this should work without any problems. Due to the exFAT formatting, the SSD should be recognised by both MacOS and Windows.

Is it still possible to use this SSD with a Windows computer or console if it explicitly says "for Mac"? Thank you.

According to my research, the SDD is pre-formatted with exFAT, which can also be recognised by Windows.
