Dear community. Is this Gen5 version the one that supports Raspberry Pi4 or not? There are 3 variants of the Gen5 and the first does not support it (see article: https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/z-wave/controllers/) Which Z-Wave USB stick would you recommend for Home Assistant (available for purchase)? Thank you.

I have this setup in a VM with passthru and it works great with HA. If I recall only the older Pi's had issues I thought. Anyways not 100% sure since I dont use Raspberry.

Is this the model with Z-Wave Plus (Gen5+) or still with Z-Wave (Gen5)? Unfortunately, you can't tell from the pictures or the item number. Brack sells the same one, but writes Z-Wave Plus at protocol

The unit uses Z-Wave plus. For example, I have already done OTA updates with it, which only works with Z-Wave plus. The external link to the manufacturer also says in one of the first lines that it is a Z-Wave plus device.

The Z-Stick Gen5 you mentioned is not the Gen5+ version. The Gen5+ version offers additional functions such as S2 security, SmartStart and an integrated battery, which are not included in the standard Gen5 version.

It should work anyway. The problem was never the Aeotec stick it was a known USB problem of the Raspberry Pi 4. I have an old revision of the Raspberry Pi 4 with that problem and solved it with a cheap USB adapter. I bought this one here: Digitus DA-70217 (4Ports) When you have a new Raspberry Pi 4, you should not have any problems with that stick. Which Smart Home solution you wanna use?
