Product details
The Pimax 8K is a virtual reality headset with an extra-wide field of view and two high-resolution 4K displays (3840x2160). This second-generation VR headset enables entirely new VR experiences and gameplay at the next level. It connects via DisplayPort 1.2 and USB 3.0, requiring a powerful gaming PC for use. Thanks to its unique design, the Pimax 8K offers an extra-wide field of view of up to 200°. While other VR headsets make you feel like you're looking through binoculars, the Pimax immerses you right in the action—without any black borders in your peripheral vision.
With the two built-in 3840x2160 LCD panels, you can enjoy VR with the highest level of detail. Thanks to its high resolution, the Pimax 8K minimizes the so-called screen door effect in both games and 360° or 3D videos—meaning individual pixels are less noticeable, which is often a problem with lower-resolution headsets. The 8K version achieves a refresh rate of 80 Hz. The Pimax 8K is compatible with PiPlay, Steam VR, and Oculus Home, allowing you to easily experience all mainstream VR content in the highest resolution. It is also compatible with the Lighthouse tracking system, making it easy to use with the base stations and controllers of the HTC Vive. Despite its wide construction, the Pimax headset surprises with its lightweight design. The interpupillary distance can be adjusted on the bottom (60 - 73 mm). The lens area is padded with elastic textile material, ensuring comfort even during longer gaming sessions. Additionally, there are two USB-C ports available for various modules that can expand functionality, including eye-tracking or hand-tracking modules, which are sold separately.
