The DUKW model in 1:72 scale has a length of approximately 117 mm. It includes decals for one version. This large triple shaft amphibian vehicle was developed during World War II for the American armed forces. The aim was to create a vehicle to supply ammunition, food, and materials stored in the holds of transport ships to invading troops occupying beachheads on enemy soil immediately after landing. The DUKW offered good navigating qualities and could move well off-road, which, combined with its high load capacity, enabled it to perform its logistic role effectively. In the post-war years, it was widely used by the United States' allies all the way through the 1970s, including for civil protection assignments.
