DPA 4071 Core

The 4071 CORE miniature microphone with omnidirectional pickup pattern is a fantastic lavalier microphone featuring a typical 5 dB presence boost at 4 to 6 kHz. This is important for a lapel microphone, as the frequency range of spoken consonants is often attenuated in this position, which can impair speech intelligibility. The boost of the 4071 maximizes speech clarity. This microphone handles sound pressure levels up to 144 dB before distortion. When recording voice with a microphone attached to the presenter’s body, frequencies below 100 Hz are not particularly desirable. Therefore, an acoustic low-cut at 100 Hz has been integrated into the capsule of the 4071, providing the built-in preamplifier with more headroom. Additionally, the low-cut filter removes low-frequency background noise and proximity effects. Thanks to this special optimization for speech, the microphone is particularly suitable for news crews in electronic reporting, as very few ENG mixers can make this adjustment.
