This is made possible by the relatively large diaphragm area of the two drivers used in the Oberon 3 and their particularly wide dispersion characteristics. While similarly sized bookshelf speakers typically feature 165 mm woofers and 19 or 20 mm tweeters, the Oberon 3 employs a 180 mm mid-bass driver and a 29 mm dome. Thanks to the approximately 15% larger diaphragm area, the drivers can generate a certain sound pressure with significantly less excursion.
