Tape recorders, or the parts in these recorders that come into contact with the tape, become magnetized over time due to their design. Magnetized tape heads and tape-contacting parts are the main cause of deteriorating playback quality. This professional degaussing device removes magnetism from tape heads and all tape-carrying parts in cassette recorders and reel-to-reel tape machines. The degausser should be used after approximately 20 hours of playing time.
