⚠️if you have a macbook pro, the max resolution (5120x1440) does NOT work out of the box! You will have to BUY a THIRD PARTY software to get there. If your company does not let you install custom software, you will be stuck in 3840x1080 which makes that whole screen unusable. I had to return mine :(

Thank you!
I can't confirm this. I use a MacBook from 2018 with exact this display and have no worries. So I don't know what issue you had.
With some MacBooks (especially the 13" ones) it makes a difference what side you put in the USB-C...don't ask why but i had this now already twice...if it happens...just try the other side of the MacBook ;)
This is because the MacBooks do not have the same USB-C ports on both side. Be careful. Only the more expensive ones are using the same USB-C ports everywhere. See here https://de.ifixit.com/Antworten...
any why is that a reason to give 3 stars only? It seems to be a MAC problem and not an issue with the monitor
I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) and is working perfectly. I connected the USB-C to the left port and is charging, I am able to use all ports on the monitor and have max resolution of 5120x1440. It is a nice monitor. I also use the camera for my zoom or ms teams meetings without a problem, thou is not as good quality as the integrated on the MacBook itself.
@Christian.paredes which USB-C cable do you use? I have the same monitor and I'm not able to connect my brand new Mac Mini M1 or my old MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016). It's only working with HDMI but like this I don't get the full resolution.
works fine for me on my new Macbook Air M1 with 5120x1440 solution out of the box, using the USB-C connection to the mac, no HDMI
@Philippere: alway pay attention that your USB C cable also supports „display Port“. I bought this one [Lindy Thunderbolt 3 Kabel (0.80m, Thunderbolt)](https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/lindy-thunderbolt-3-kabel-080m-thunderbolt-video-kabel-12717244)
interesting, for me the included one from the monitor works fine ...
@Mkmr the included one should also support DisplayPort. It also worked fine for me. I just needed a longer one than the included.
Yes, I have a Apple Mac Book Pro 2019 and it works. The Hub works very good with 1GBit/Lan. Even better than my Docking station before, which I needed often unplug and replug. The resolution also works. But somtetimes I need to unplug the display and replug it. It doesn't work perfect as I would expect it from a Mac but it works. And rarely I need to restart the Mac Book Pro completely after standby when it doesn't wanna switch to the right resolution.
Had the same issue, with MacBook Pro 15" 2016 now also with MacBook Air M2. Bought this cable (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/satechi-usb4-c-zu-usb-c-braidkabel-80cm-usb-typ-c-80-cm-data-video-adapter-20839089?supplier=406802) now it is workin perfectly on both machines.
Can anyone tell me if my mac mini late 2014, 3 ghz Dual-Core Intel with 16GB 1600Mhz DDR3 support the Samsung 49 inch with 5120x1440 resolution?
@inbox2401: i found something on linustechtips https://linustechtips.com/topic... so it looks like it will not fully support the full resolution without any issues. but you can use two display cables (usb-c and hdmi) and then you have like two screens on one. I tested that once with my pc setup. it's for sure fine for working, but not if you like to play games. but i doubt, you have this intention with your mac mini. not perfect for sure
@res_kocher, thanks a lot :)
