Yamaha Wxad-10

I wondered the same thing after I bought an Apple HomePod and tried to send music to my WXAD-10, and it didn't work. You are right: There is no Airplay 2. In the manual, page 21: https://de.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/5/890865/web_WXAD-10_om_ABG_En.pdf you can see it. And on this very useful list, the WXAD-10 is unfortunately not listed: https://de.yamaha.com/de/products/contents/audio_visual/musiccast/update_models.html But maybe it can help you anyway.
I don't think so, the RCA jacks on the WXAD-10 are outputs only. The same applies to the jack plug (also output only).
Yes, since the Yamaha WXAD-10 supports DLNA, this also makes the device UPnP-capable. See: https://de.yamaha.com/de/products/audio_visual/accessories/wxad-10/index.html#product-tabs https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Living_Network_Alliance There are countless alternatives, but due to the good sound and MusicCast (I myself own several Yamaha devices that can be centrally controlled with it), I can clearly recommend the Yamaha WXAD-10.
If Amazon music streams with Airplay and you can hook the Yamaha to the Denon it should work...
I have experience with Spotify. You have to use phone to start the music. But then the device connects directly to Spotify server to play music. So you can do other things on your phone (or even switch it off). Essentially you are using the phone as a remote control. You connect the out signal directly to the amp* * To be clear I have an integrated stereo amplifier. So I am not sure if you are taking about a mono block amp. If yes, then you probably need a separate receiver.
Hi Marco, the quality is pretty good. For me, it's better than with Chromecast, radio or some CD. Whether you can play 5.1 or stereo, I can't say. Greetings, Jorge
I also have an RX-A1080 and it works fine through my stereo system in the office. However, I have switched the PC's WLAN to the 5 GHz band because otherwise there are interruptions with the WXAD-10. (The WXAD-10 is connected to WLAN 2.4 GHz). Greetings Urs
This is not possible by default, although there is software for this, but the delay is then quite long.
No, this is not possible because there is only one line out.
Hi, I connected my WXAD-10 to a small Yamaha at the RCA input for MiniDisc (IN MD), set the input on the receiver to MD and it works for me. I would try the middle audio input IN (play) on MD/CD-R at the back in the upper left area. Set the input of the receiver to this source and try again.
It has worked fine and I haven’t noticed any issues.
I don't see a problem, provided you use Wi-Fi. I have the box in my living room and I stream audio from my office next to it. There is a load-bearing wall in between. However, via WLAN. Bluetooth probably won't work over 20m.
