Just junk? How bad the Captiva PC really is
The Digitec Galaxus Community agrees that one of the Captiva PCs in our range is junk. I decided to investigate.
The Nvidia RTX 3090 and AMD Ryzen 9 5950X – two of the best PC components money can currently buy. They’re installed in a Captiva PC, the beautifully named R59-816 RTX 3090. Yet the Community’s verdict is unanimous: this PC is junk.
Why? Because of the gimcrack 650-watt power supply included. However, I discover an 800-watt power supply when unpacking my PC. It turns out the manufacturer replaced the components in the PC without informing our product managers of the change. So, as of Friday, 17 December, two configurations of the PC are available in our shop:
The former comes with a 650-watt power supply, the latter with 800 watts.
In the video above, I take a look at the PC with the 800-watt power supply – and let you know for whom it might be a good choice after all.
