digitec plays "Farming Simulator 19": Are you still mowing or already watering?

Time to put on your wellies and fire up the tractor. The new "Farming Simulator" is here. We have no idea what farming is like, but since all we have on our minds is muck, we should be perfectly equipped. We plough away at 1 pm.
The "Farming Simulator" has been around for ten years. The Zurich-based studio Giants Software hit a nerve with it in 2008. Since then, the numerous spin-offs have not only been among the most successful games from Switzerland by far, but have also delighted international fans of tractors and forage harvesters. The latest version now offers over 300 vehicles, a real physics engine and, for the first time, horses. You can't make tasty steaks out of them, but you can ride them.

Other than that, you do what you do on a farm: sowing, fertilising, harvesting. It all sounds very simple. I hope I also get to grow hemp and then chase weed-smoking hippies with the combine harvester. This is the first time Simon and I have played a "farming simulator", but we've both seen a tractor and cows before. So it should be a breeze.

The "Farming Simulator 19" is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The code was provided to us by Giants Software.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
