Sonus faber
Sonus Faber's philosophy is not limited to the tonal / technical aspects. Much more, these are products that should appeal to all the senses. When processing the cases, not only the highest quality but also an aesthetic appearance is important, which now enjoys a unique reputation throughout the world.
The Sonus Faber company building was designed by the Italian star architect Flabio Albanese. The shape of the elaborate new building is based on the lute shape patented by Sonus Faber for loudspeaker construction. The shape, which tapers towards the rear, is now being boldly copied by a large number of other loudspeaker developers. The new building is not only an architectural feast for the eyes, but also a statement. To talk about the much praised quality of Sonus Faber loudspeakers would be to carry owls to Athens. Almost every dedicated hi-fi and music lover knows these qualities of the Cremonese manufacturer. And those who have already had the opportunity to gain sound experience with Sonus Faber loudspeakers know that the term "sound sculpture" is not used for nothing in most reports about Sonus Faber. After the Cremona loudspeaker series was consistently completed over the past year, Franco Serblin, founder and owner of Sonus Faber, has never lost sight of a certain, long-standing goal:
The development and perfection of his masterpiece, the Stradivari Homage. For about 7 years now the rumours about this "master of all loudspeakers" have been haunting the scene. What was not all speculated. The most adventurous performances were spread by the fans. But all this has now come to an end, because this year the time has come: The Stradivari Homage sees the light of day. Contrary to many speculations, the "Stradivarius" did not become a gigantic monster loudspeaker, as some feared due to the gigantomania in the class of the so-called "super loudspeakers", but rather, as Sonus Faber is not accustomed to do, a harmonious Gesamtkunstwerk, which was created according to only two consistent objectives: 1. sound perfection 2. craftsmanship perfection. How many different case designs and driver combinations were tested by Franco Serblin over the years for their coherence can hardly be imagined in times of mass production and computer optimization.
