Nestlé
In good food lies the power for a better life for all. We unleash this power - today and for future generations.
Nestlé is the world's largest food and beverage company, with operations in 187 countries. Our company employs about 290,000 people worldwide and is headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland.
Nestlé's history begins in 1866 with the founding of the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company, which opens Europe's first condensed milk factory in Cham. In Vevey, Henri Nestlé develops a pioneering infant formula a year later. In 1905, the company he founded merges with Anglo-Swiss to form what is now known as the Nestlé Group.
More than 2,000 brands are a part of Nestlé - from global icons to national innovations. THOMY's star product, mild mustard in an aluminum tube, was a world innovation in 1934, as was NESCAFÉ, the first instant coffee, invented in 1938. CAILLER, Switzerland's oldest surviving chocolate brand, is also one of Nestlé's iconic brands, as is GARDEN GOURMET, which offers a wide-ranging line of delicious vegetarian products. Nestlé's traditional Swiss brands also include LEISI, of course, whose fine doughs give baking pleasure to the whole family. And last but not least, KITKAT, NESQUIK, NESPRESSO and also BEBA are among the international brands that make Nestlé shine around the world.
Nestlé touches the lives of billions of people every day: farmers who oversee the responsible cultivation of their raw materials, families who consume their products, communities where Nestlé lives and works, and the natural environment that surrounds us all. That's why we at Nestlé are consistently pursuing this path: with a clear focus on a more balanced diet, a more considerate approach to nature, and a clear commitment to our social responsibility.
