Kenneth Wood ha fondato la Kenwood Manufacturing Company nel 1947 nella contea inglese del Surrey. I primi prodotti erano un tostapane e un mixer che vendeva molto bene. Il grande successo arrivò tre anni dopo, quando Wood sviluppò un nuovo sistema di macchine da cucina.

Oggi le macchine da cucina Kenwood sono tra le più vendute al mondo, soprattutto nel segmento di prezzo elevato.
