Free-standing TVs you’ll want to highlight instead of hide

I’d usually always try to hide a television. But now I’ve discovered ways to elegantly integrate the TV into the interior and almost turn it into a sculpture.
Even though I appreciate my run-of-the-mill TV in everyday life, it doesn’t exactly make my home prettier. That’s why I’ve been trying to blend it into a picture wall – with little success. But what if I changed my approach and turned my TV into a highlight? In my search for inspiration, I came across four ideas that are pretty easy to implement.
Idea 1: free-standing TV
TikTok user adenhome has placed his Samsung The Serif TV in front of a window, making it fit in well with the seating area. This setup creates an airy effect and keeps the walls clear.

Free-standing TVs such as The Serif can be placed anywhere in the room, giving you plenty of new options. It also means the screen isn’t separated from the room and the viewers. Just like Samsung’s The Frame, The Serif’s also a digital picture frame, giving it a sculptural character.

Idea 2: TV stands
If you don’t want to buy a new TV, consider getting a TV stand instead. There are TV stands in a range of designs. Wooden models make the technical device look more natural, while the grain adds a decorative touch.

Black TV stands can also look pretty, as their colour isn’t flashy and blends in well with the black screen. This promotes visual calm.

TV stands made of aluminium or stainless steel look elegant and subtle and are popular right now, as the hot metal trend proves. In addition, the light reflects off the metal surfaces, providing the occasional sparkle.

Idea 3: DIY TV stands
I recently came across another way of staging a TV in a gallery– a custom-made metal stand. This elegant pedestal literally made the TV stand out. However, the idea requires quite some DIY skills. Of course, you could have a stand made to measure according to your wishes – made of metal, wood or stone, for instance.

Idea 4: TV on a bench
How about turning a pillar, bench or coffee table into a TV stand? TikTok user adenhome shows us how it’s done by using a narrow bench as a base for his Samsung TV.

Furniture on wheels is ideal, as it allows you to move the TV as you wish – especially if the screen doesn’t swivel.
As pretty as these four ideas are, keep in mind that they require clever cable solutions. TikToker adenhome, for example, went with a colourful extension cable. What’s more, these TV ideas need more space than a wall-mounted TV would? Having said that, I’m happy to give my TV more space if it means it blends in better with its surroundings.
